My name is Marat Berenstein. I was born in soviet Ukraine, raised in south Brooklyn, and currently live in New York City.
I graduated from Columbia in 2004 and my first job in music was assisting and tour managing the legendary Art Garfunkel!
In 2008, I started Hit Me Music—a management, label, and licensing company. When I turned 28, I became a professor at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute, where I ran the high school programs and taught music business.
After seven life-changing years, I left NYU to focus on artist management and music rights advocacy.
