Marat Berenstein leads Strategic Partnerships & Industry Relations at NYU's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, in a newly created senior role celebrating the Institute's 20th Anniversary. He enjoys more than 15 years of success in building partnerships, managing artists, developing original content, and producing global events. Marat was on faculty in the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, where he was nominated for the David Payne-Carter Award for Teaching Excellence in 2018, and where he built unique education-based experiences by partnering with artists like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Jon Batiste, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Kesha, Macklemore, Chloe and Halle Bailey.

Marat was instrumental in NYU honoring Pharrell Williams with a Doctorate of Fine Arts in 2017. He produced Pharrell's Artist-In-Residency for the 50th Anniversary of Tisch and created the NYU Masterclass, that launched the career of 2020 Best New Artist Grammy nominee, Maggie Rogers.

In 2022, Marat played a leadership role in producing XP Music Futures, an annual 3-day conference based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that provided unprecedented access to music education in the region.

Marat graduated from Columbia University and lives in New York City.
